The Old Farm Bothy

Owned by Susannah Pate

Welcome!

The Old Farm Bothy is a cosy hideaway for two in a beautiful scenic spot on a working hill farm at the foot of the Angus Glens. With a wood burning stove, small garden with panoramic views and easy walks from the door, it is an ideal place to switch off and relax with a good book, board games and fresh air. It’s also a great base for more adventurous walking, cycling, golf, skiing and visiting castles and stately homes in Angus and Perthshire, as well as exploring central Scotland.

The Old Farm Bothy

The Old Farm Bothy is a cosy hideaway for two in a beautiful scenic spot on a working hill farm at the foot of the Angus Glens. With a wood burning stove, small garden with panoramic views and easy walks from the door, it is an ideal place to switch off and relax with a good book, board games and fresh air. It’s also a great base for more adventurous walking, cycling, golf, skiing and visiting castles and stately homes in Angus and Perthshire, as well as exploring central Scotland.

The bothy retains traditional features such as the cooking pot over the fireplace and pretty arched windows with lovely views. The accommodation is studio-style with a separate galley kitchen and shower room. Part of a row of traditional farm cottages looking down to the river and hills beyond, it has its own garden, private entrance and parking right next door. You can breakfast al fresco and by night curl up by the fire or head back outdoors to cook on the BBQ.

We have deer and sheep on the farm, and you’ll also see plenty of birdlife including curlews, oyster catchers and cuckoos, as well as wildlife. The Cateran Trail runs next to the farm for longer trekss, and there’s plenty of hill walking and biking in Angus and Perthshire.

What makes us special

Panoramic views, fresh air and space to unwind away from busy life, and well placed to enjoy the great outdoors of the Angus glens.
