Cowbog Farm has been home to the Wilson family since 1938, with three generations managing and protecting the land that is set in the historic and beautiful hills and valleys of the Scottish Borders.

Come and experience the farm first hand with one of our walking or tractor and trailer tours, or taste the best of Scottish Borders produce with one of our food experiences.


Wilsons Farm and Kitchen

We run a range of farm tours and food experiences to suit couples, families and small groups on several dates throughout the year, visit our What’s On page for available dates and booking. Our Wee Bothies are also suitable for smaller groups (4-8 people), perfect for birthdays and other celebrations.

For larger groups of family, friends or work colleagues, we offer private group bookings, click on any of the Tour & Experience boxes below to read more and make a booking.

What makes us special

Hire a Wee Bothy
Our repurposed grain stores offer a quirky, fun and private way to dine in the countryside without worrying about the weather! Seating up to 8 people, the heated bothies have their own private firepit and with beautiful views of the surrounding countryside.

The Wee Bothies Experience includes a local Gourmet Tasting Platter as well as delicious homemade baking and soft drinks, water, tea and coffee.

The Stables Venue Hire
The Stables is available for hire for private events, and is perfect for parties, wedding breakfasts, dinners, exhibitions and meetings in the Scottish Borders.

Decorated in a rustic and quirky style, it has a fantastic atmosphere. Enjoy a drink from our legendary ‘unstable bar’, made from one of the farm’s beautiful old riveted troughs! The perfect location for horse lovers! We’re experienced at catering for private parties, for people enjoying local events, and country pursuits in the area.

While you're here...

  • While visiting people can have a farm walk, have a farm tour, eat, and eat some more, or just relax in a Bothy while enjoying a meal. We are able to organise sheep dog displays, cookery demonstrations and livestock demonstrations too.
